I have a varied collection of kit...
From an aged 486 DX4/100 I originally built in the late '80s when I was at Uni to several much newer AMD 2400+
machines, a P4, a dual PIII 450 server and an old SGI Indy. They all run varying flavours of linux, either fedora, debian or in the case of the
indy, debian-mips. There isn't a single copy of Microsoft Windows running on any of my machines.
Their current tasks vary from the more usual roles of mailserver and webserver to that of seti cluster…
The seti cluster is a collection of diskless K7S41 motherboards with AMD Athlon XP2400+ CPUs. These net boot using PXE and run as ltsp terminals
The results of all this seti crunching can be seen here.
(config & howto to follow at some point).
I'm also in the process of building a multimedia station, based on an the VIA EPIA ME6000 fanless 600MHz motherboard.
